Gettin Ready for some POOL TIME!

So it looks like Wayne had lots of help setting the pool up today. He said the bottom was very clean. The bad thing is that now that the pool is filled, Carson probably wont think it is as fun that he can't reach the bottom and slip and slid all over the place. We have a little pool that Daddy might have to get out of the building on some occasions. I think the cease of wearing diapers in the day is a great cause for a pool celebration! As soon as I got home from work, most of the neighborhood boys were over here....in their bathing suits! lol Josh and Caleb finished up their summer programs today. Caleb went on a field trip to Myrtle Beach for a boat ride. Now we have the rest of the summer of, well, nothing. I love it.

Forever and a day later

Who new I even remembered how to log onto this blog? It has been such a long time since I posted. Seeing as how I can't begin to catch up, I will just try to start again! So we are enjoying our summer, or some of us are anyway. Caleb and Josh are both doing some summer scholastic programs at school. They are ready for it to be over so I guess tomorrow being the last day is music to their ears. Both were only 4 weeks, Monday through Thursday, only in the morning. So really it wasn't that bad. Ava and Carson are just chillin. Ava got her first major haircut. She got it cut right past her chin and donated her pony tail. She was happy to know that her hair would help someone without hair. They both have birthdays right around the corner. Ava will be 6 and Carson will be 3. I have such a hard time with the trying to plan a party for the weekend around the 4th of July. No one is in town....ever. I think we will have another "sprinkler fun" party and invite the ice cream truck aka the yummy wagon. Our church has Terrific Tuesdays and Wonderful Wednesdays for Caleb, Josh and Ava. C and J went to Charleston last week to the SC Aquarium. Ava went to Columbia yesterday to the zoo. Lots more of exciting stuff planned. Wayne and I took an overnight trip to Myrtle Beach. We got there in time to eat a delicious meal and catch Pirates of the C in 3D. We hung out at Broadway at the Beach for a while and then found a hotel with one room left. Got up the next morning and headed to Huntington Beach State Park, but not before a yummy waffle in the phat waffle maker for the continental breakfast. We went in to the park, paid 10 for a day pass, and went down on the beach. Wayne and I will both tell you that we are not fans of the beach. We go several times a year because the kids have such a good time. So, we go out, only carrying two chairs and sit for over 2 hours. Neither of us got up until we were hungry and ready to leave. We both realized, although we do enjoy seeing the kids have a good time, that it is very nice to not drag 6 chairs, a cooler, tent, towels, sunscreen and the biggest bag of sand toys that exists.....not to mention worry the whole time about our beach neighbors getting sand kicked on them while my kids run by or shake their towels out. We honestly look like a circus coming to town. Haha. In the few times Wayne and I have like this together, I realize that I truly have found the person for me. I always tease Wayne and tell him "I think I kind of like you". I look forward to the day that I will get to know him once again. I look forward to having an uninterrupted conversation. I look forward to our conversations not being dominated by planning shuttling times and schedules. It of course is a catch 22. I don't want to rush the kids into growing up, I already miss those baby years. When they are grown and gone, I really don't know what my identity will be. I feel like it is crazy to worry about them growing up and not needing their mommy as much, but those thoughts just creep in. So now that I have lost my temper with every child coming up and needing something and all the neighborhood boys in and out while I try and finish this up, I will save more for later.
